Author Notes for 2005-03-05

My tenth strip! Woo-hoo! My elation is somewhat muted, though, by my first-ever delivery lacuna. Sorry I missed last week, folks. Like our hero in today's strip, my excuses come in pairs: (a) this week's strip took more work than I expected, both because of the extra panels and because I wasn't happy with some of the earlier transforms (frankly, I'm not really happy with the ones I settled for, either), and (b) the schedule at work was recently rearranged in such a way as to make my Friday nights busier than they had been. I'm making the adjustment and things should smooth out. Anyway, I've decided that for every week I'm late with the strip going forward I will spend an extra corresponding week twiddling my thumbs in purgatory in addition to those already accrued for other acts in other times. So, I'm motivated to make sure that doesn't happen.

(Save! This is my second time typing this--my computer's plug popped out of the wall as soon as I finished this note a few minutes ago, and I lost it all. Perhaps someone doesn't like glib references to purgatory. Hmmm.)

If you're alarmed for the future by the skin quotient in today's strip, relax. GZ is not a sex strip, and it isn't moving in that direction. Certainly it won't be about sex, in much the same way that life is not about sex. Hope I cleared that up. Seriously, though, no worries.

Debuting next week will be an About page with character info. So far there have only been two characters: (a) SZ37, a.k.a. Chip, the holographic user interface for the massive abandoned space station drifting through the heart of Galaxy J-12 (which station is twenty minutes from the event horizon of a bizarre spatial anomaly!), and (b) Brian Kyle, former lieutenant and bored helmsman of the Setnian Star Ship Hawk, recently kidnapped by SZ37/Chip in a desperate attempt to save the station before it gets flushed down the hole. Now there are three characters, so I should really see about a character sheet. Granted two of those characters are the same character, but as we'll soon see, that will rapidly become an oversimplification.

Thanks for reading folks. Stay tuned.

Legal stuff and all that. Enjoy the site, no copying without asking, thanks. Cool extras coming soon.
